I create to question the truth of gender and sexuality within the context of intersectional feminism. I use lens-based media combined with the written or spoken words as a means to explore the performativity of being classified as certain labels like ‘man’ or ‘queer’. What do these words mean and why do they matter?

The spectrum of gender and sexuality extends beyond the binary of man or woman. Yet the ideas that are being taught in society is exactly that, either a man or a woman, one or the other, black or white. For many, this is not their truth. To hear the stories and experiences of the people in the queer community is to learn that there is more than one perspective of being queer.
